Giant shark made from recycled wood at Carrara

A giant shark made of wood recycled from a dismantled shed is making a splash at a northern Gold Coast market.

The 8-metre shark is one of three works being constructed from recycled materials at the Carrara Markets.

This is a creation by Danish sculptor, Thomas Dambo.

Mr Dambo believes in encouraging others to recycle and he is creating the sculpture out of thousands of  recycled pallets provided by Carrara Markets.

Visitors will be able to walk through the shark’s mouth and pose for photographs.

The shark is only the beginning, as Mr Dambo is also building a kangaroo and a snake using the recycled wood.
